There's a movement afoot to get Pete Parisi a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame. The online petition currently has 57 signers. The late Parisi was the mastermind behind World Wide Magazine, a public access TV program that ran for 15 years. We ran an article about the show written by Brent Feeney, a regular cast member, back in March of 2002.

How many signatures does it take?
Would he be the most "underground" person on the walk? After the forever indie Phyllis Diller that is.

[Posted by Jim on Mon., Aug 6, 2007 at 4:41 PM]Just discovered that social activist and writer Michael Harrington grew up in Skinker-Debaliviere and was even baptized at St. Roch's.
Harrington's work in the 1950's was hugely important to the creation of the Great Society program. He was a giant in the area of anti-poverty work.
Nothing should happen on that walk of fame until there's a big fat plaque in honor of Mr. Harrington.
