There's an article in the March 10th issue of The Economist about the non-event of St. Louis' mayoral election.

This election is a sad event, especially given that Marshall's candidacy wasn't motivated by anoything more than a desire to keep Haas from running as the Green candidate. He'll be the last Green candidate, too, unless Haas or anyone else expresses interest and the junta that owns the Green Party files someone to block that person. Such a missed opportunity and weak oppositional _organizations_ sets a bad precedent for Daley-smooth victories for $lay in the future, should he choose.
