Baton Bob Back? (Or Never Left?)

Word on the street (okay, I don't know if you can call Brentwood Boulevard "da street") is that Baton Bob, that Ambassador of Mirth/Mayhem (depending on your pov), is back in the CWE, doing his Cardinals dance and shakin' that thang. Anyone know the story?

I don't think so. I've been seeing Baton Bob doin' his thang on the streets of midtown Atlanta for the past several weeks.

I've been running posts on Bob for well over a year now. While browsing through my referal log one day, I noticed a LARGE amount of search engine referals to my site about him. Seems that no matter how people feel about him, he is definately getting their attention.

As for me, he's just one more thing that makes StL near and dear to me!

Baton Bob is alive and well and marching daily down Peachtree Road in beautiful Atlanta! He brings a glimmer of joy into our hum-drum lives every day.

I love Baton Bob! Thanks for making my day brighter

[Posted by Liz on Wed., Mar 9, 2005 at 9:14 PM]

Yay!!! I finally know who he is...the man who brightens my day almost every day! I live on Monroe and when my dog hears "the whistle" she knows I'm going to the door to see what the costume of the day is. I work from home, and Baton Bob has added a lot to many of my days when things seemed downhill. I was told today that he has his own website, but I can't find it. Does anyone know the URL? Think I'll go out on the porch next time he goes by and tell him hello.

Man, it amazes me how this thread lives on...Bob used to have a website at http://ambassadorofmirth.com/, but there's been a message there for a while saying a new one was on the way. Mirth for everyone! I remember when there was a rumor that he planned to teach twirling classes in the park here in STL, too. Maybe that plan will be revived.

Everyday we wait in anticipation for Baton Bob to twirl down Peachtree and 8th past the restaurant ... my fav costume would have to be wonder woman... he is absolutley fabulous and makes our day!!!

I saw him in Midtown Atlanta on April 21, 2005. I had never heard of him before. But I must say, he made my day. Thanks BB, where ever you are.

Baton Bob is a very evil person! What you see is the the true personality. Not only is he a bit crazy but will turn on you in a minute. Beware, never hire him to entertain at any of your personal functions.

Saw Bob the other day dressed like an Indian. Didn't know who he was until I got to work and someone toldme all about him. He really bought a smile to my face. Can't wait to see the next what he has on next.

Saw Baton Bob durning Pride at Flying Biscuit in Midtown Atlanta. He was in his 'construction dude' outfit. I'm stalking him trying to get a picture.
Wish we could post pics here.

saw baton bob by woodruff park in atl on friday nov. 30th. so unless he goes back and forth from st loius to atl, he is still in atl.

As a former st louisan turned atlantan since college, I had only heard of Baton Bob from my grandmother back home in STL. Today, on a beautiful Atlanta Fall day I saw him for the first time while with my children and husband on Peachtree Street after a day at the Arts Center. I must say St Louis' loss is Atlanta's gain. He made everyone smile! And isn't that what life is all about! Not surprised by his mixed reception back home...miss the place terribly but love how accepting Atlanta is of the individual!!!!

Just saw Baton Bob scream at a beautiful young woman who had done NOTHING to him. This guy is a nutcase and should not be on the streets of Atlanta. He crossed Peachtree and began screaming, calling her obscenities and using vile language. The city of Atlanta does not need someone like this. He needs to go far away.

Forget anything negative you have read about Baton Bob. People are merely jealous that this courageous soul marches to the tune of his own whistle. He is a fearless, forthright, and fun soul...Atlanta is lucky to have been the recipient of his spirit.

I used to see Bob everyday and for the life of me I could never understand people's fascination with him. He's a man in drag parading around blowing a whistle and twirling a baton! He's obviously crazy and as time went on that was thoroughly self-evident. He became disruptive, aggressive, confrontational and trespassed where he was not wanted. He had explosive tantrums in public places suggesting that he was a heterophobe and a racist. The last straw was his ultimatum that unless St. Louis supported him financially, he would leave.

I suspect the same will happen in Atlanta.

well the queen used to live in my apt. bldg in st louis..and he is arrogant and thinks he's spreading joy..he's just acting like a big queen and making gays look freaks and weirdos..we get enough negativity from the straight community

[Posted by paul lefebvre on Sun., Apr 16, 2006 at 12:01 PM]

i'm all for tolerance, and think bob has a right to lash out at "breeders" who are narrow minded and homophopic..us gays are tired of it! they come from the county to hang out in the west end to try and look cultured and trendy, and they should except the large gay population that inhabits the central west end in st louis..more gays and lesbians need to shock these straight people into reality..we are everywhere and they are not better than us because they are 90% of the population

Is Baton Bob sucking cock again? If so. what is he charging these days?

[Posted by D'Shawn on Sat., May 27, 2006 at 1:59 PM]

Baton Bob is STILL alive and well. He was on the news today talking about his life in the ATL (5-27-06). I do think this guy us a class act but atleast he is doing what he wants.

Now going into Jason post saying Baton Bob is racist thats pure bullshit.

Baton Bob is human and he makes you laugh.
